A big little exhibition by ‘All Things Great are Small’, a group of painters, illustrators and printmakers who work in miniature.
‘All Things Great are Small’ is a group of miniaturists, painters, illustrators and printmakers who came together 16 years ago to promote and foster the appreciation of miniatures and small paintings.
The miniature size of these images and crafts does not diminish their greatness – they are so superbly portable that you can carry the world in your hand.
Miniature paintings are restricted in size to 100 square centimetres and are a miniaturisation of the subject. Their detail and gem-like colours, despite their size, attract attention from a distance and invite the viewer to come closer to inspect the fine detail and craftsmanship.
The artists featured in this exhibition are: Elizabeth Atkin, Gillian Baldock, Yvonne Barry, Lisa Brack, Regina Brewster, Patti Jones, Marjorie Kay, Ruth Kemp, Penny Levett, Kim Shannon and Carol Thomson.
All works will be for sale and support the work of the National Trust.
