Wedding & Functions Lead
About us
The National Trust of Australia (Victoria) (NTAV) is an independent, non-profit organisation supported by a large community base. We are Victoria’s premier heritage and conservation organisation and the major operator of historic properties and sites open to the public across Victoria.
About the role
The National Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Wedding & Functions Lead to oversee the delivery of wedding and function activity across all major NTAV locations. You will be responsible for managing the entire sales and delivery process, from planning and coordination to execution. Supervising a small team, this position will report to the Executive Manager – Commercial and will work closely with our Property Managers, Marketing and Bookings teams. This is a hands-on role requiring strong relationship and project management skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Implementing the NTAV’s business development strategy and actively promoting our wedding and function offerings,
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of high-quality weddings and functions at all major NTAV locations,
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers plus community engagement for all weddings and functions,
- Coordinate the staffing of weddings and functions with team resources, casual staff, and volunteers, and
- Continuously improve the NTAV’s wedding and functions offering in response to customer feedback and industry trends to deliver profitable growth.
About you
- At least two years working within the weddings and functions industry with clients from various market segments as a sales lead demonstrating a high level of sales capability and an ability to thoroughly qualify enquiries and drive conversion
- A high level of financial acumen with the ability to set budgets, maintain performance reporting and deliver against goals
- A proven ability to competently manage stakeholder, supplier, and community relationships
- A demonstrated commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
- Excellent communication skills, written & oral with proficiency in English
- This role requires flexibility to work outside of standard business hours on events important to the NTAV and requires travel between NTAV properties. A drivers licence is essential.

Archaeology Program Facilitator - Education Team
- Casual role/hours flexible
- Salary: $35.99 per hour inclusive of casual loading plus super

The successful candidates will deliver and coordinate education programs which include curriculum-aligned activities, stories and history to be presented to primary and secondary school groups.

About the role
- Deliver education programs to school groups according to agreed session plans and facilitator notes including activities, stories and history.
- Facilitate programs for education groups, and coordinate aspects of group activities on the day.
- Discuss school-specific needs with teaching staff and modify plans accordingly.
- Work with the National Trust education team to improve the facilitation and interpretation of the education program.
- Ensure that all students and guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.
- Work as part of a team and be willing to work at other National Trust sites as required
Archaeology Program Facilitator
Archaeology Program Facilitators run fieldwork excursion programs at simulated archaeological dig sites, and incursion programs in schools (own vehicle required). This program is a hands-on learning experience for students and aligns with the Victorian Curriculum in History, and some Geography and Science. Prospective applicants must be trained in archaeology, and have experience working with groups of children.

- Incursion locations: Schools in metropolitan areas, and regional Victoria
About you
- Excellent presentation skills and an outgoing, friendly, confident manner
Relevant post-secondary/tertiary qualifications in Education (highly desirable) - An education background (highly desirable)
- Interest in Australian history and heritage
- Ability to work collaboratively to assist with performing end to end tasks
- Organisation skills and good time management
- Confidence to manage a group of adults and children with a wide ranging audience from school students, to mixed age members of the public
- Collaboration skills and enjoy working as part of an energetic and diverse team of facilitators
- Qualifications in facilitating educational programs and/or tourism guide experience
- Willingness to work some full day, and some half day shifts
- Willingness to wear and maintain assigned uniform
- Willingness to have your photo taken for promotional and visitor purposes

Manager - Fundraising & Philanthropy

About the role:
The National Trust is seeking a Fundraising & Philanthropy Manager to develop the strategy and provide end-to-end management of all NTAV fundraising activity. Responsibilities will include:
- building and managing long term relationships with existing, new and potential donors,
- ensure that donor experience and stewardship is of the highest quality by developing and implementing donor cultivation and stewardship plans,
- developing connections with governmental agencies and corporate contacts to ensure their ongoing relationships with the NTAV remain secure and receptive,
- creation and management of high-quality requests for philanthropic, governmental or corporate funding through targeted grant submissions and sponsorship opportunities, and
- provide reports which demonstrate performance against agreed KPIs including detail of an established pipeline, funding application success rates and projected income.
Working closely with our Board, CEO, Executive team and key stakeholders throughout the NTAV, this role will be key in maximising revenue from the philanthropic sector, bequests, grants, corporate sponsorship and donations under the direction of the Executive Manager – Commercial.
About you:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- At least five years working with mid-level to major donors and/or bequests in the non-profit sector
- Your demonstrated strong capability in proactively and strategically and tactically managing a philanthropy portfolio, overseeing progress and risks, and identifying new avenues to raise funds
- Experience in creating and managing a pipeline of donations and bequests and working with third parties to grow the income line
- Demonstrated experience developing, managing and growing large revenue lines
- Proven ability to competently manage significant stakeholder relationships
- Experience of leading small teams and proven ability to coach and develop others
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated, confident presentation skills
- A positive, collaborative and ‘can do’ approach with the initiative to work both in team and autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- This role requires flexibility to work outside of usual business hours as required on events important to the NTAV
